TITLE OF THE SCHOOL: VIASM School on Number Theory

PLACE: HANOI

DATES: 18-24/JUNE 2018

The VIASM school will be held in Hanoi in June 2018. Four courses will be given by Lucia Di Vizio (Versailles, France), Federico Pellarin (St-Etienne, France), Jérome Poineau (Caen, France) and Lenny Taelman (Amsterdam, Netherlands). These courses will not only introduce the basic tools, but also present an overview of recent developments of different topics in Number Theory so that the young mathematicians could archieve major breakthroughs in the near future. We expect that this school will boost the interaction and collaboration between graduate students and researchers in number theory from Vietnam and the neighbouring countries with experts from Europe.

The school is one week along in June 2018. There are four mini-courses, each consists of 5x90 minute lectures. Several tutorial sessions are planned if necessary.

"Algebra is the offer made by the devil to the mathematician. The devil says: I will give you this powerful machine, it will answer any question you like. All you need to do is give me your soul: give up geometry and you will have this marvelous machine." (M. Atiyah)

Hình như nếu muốn có thể tự đến nghe. Có 4 chủ đề: Algebraic Theory of difference equation, Drinfeld modular form, p-adic study of zeta function of varieties over finite fields, class field theory for curves over finite fields.
